A Bit More Detail

It's been a whirlwind of a day, and I can't thank all of you enough for just being there.

I'm not free to give all of the details but the brief overview is that my husband's contract--which we were assured as recently as 12/10 would be renewed--was not renewed. Some details from the original contract are also not being fulfilled, which puts us in a decidedly not-nice position overall. As of Monday he will be a free agent.

Because of the nature of blogs I'm trying to be circumspect about the overall situation, while still trying to be a little less vague for those who have come to know me. Blogs are weird animals, aren't they?

Regardless, it actually has meant a great deal to know that there are people out there who care and who lift us up. I appreciate all of your warm wishes, prayers and kind regards more than you'll ever know.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers for the (hopefully brief) time that my spouse will be looking for work.

I'm late to the news and request but I'll still be praying for you and your situation. So sorry to hear that. I really hope it won't take long for him to find something else.

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly does he do? Email vivalalesley at livejournal.com if you do not wish to publish it. However, you never know who knows somebody who needs somebody, you know? I have such a way with words, don't I?

I am so sorry to hear this. We will keep you in our prayers, as I know these can be scary times.

I had all kinds of scenarios running through my mind as well. You had just two posts before made reference to your white blood cell count being high - needless to say I feared greatly for your health, even your life.

That still doesn't ease the sting of what y'all are going through, though. we'll continue to pray till this gets better.

I'm sending up prayers for you guys. Nothing is scarier than job woes, except maybe health woes.

I hope the job search goes well and quickly. And no matter how bumpy a ride it is, at least it shouldn't be a deadly one. Good luck.

Thank you for the update; we'll continue to pray for your health and your husband's job.

I know all of Pittsburgh can't compare to a quarter-inch of Nashville, but my husband's employer is hiring and they're booming right now. Feel free to IM or email me if you two are interested.
