Important Food Question
Has anyone been to Red Robin burgers? Do they have good burgers?
I admit, I've cut red meat out of my diet, but today is a day when I think I may just have to relax my standards. BUT if I'm gonna sin I wanna sin big. I want a GOOD burger.

Never been to Red Robin. By far, the most "sinful" burger to me is Fat Mo's. Especially the Big Mo.
Perhaps I'm the only person in Nashville who doesn't like Fat Mo's. I think their burgers are terrible.
I don't know about you guys, but Hardee's burgers look phenomenal. The only Hardee's I know of, though, is the one in Franklin, and even burger that good isn't enough reason to drive all the way down there.
Long for a Fuddrucker's, but no more after the West End location closed. You should try a Montana's Grill Bison Burger - lean meat, great atmosphere and awesome onion rings.
K-Tel, I'm looking forward to a food review from you soon!
Jag, you aren't....I don't care for Mo's either. I think it's the spice they use, and it seems that they hard-fry their burgers, draining out all the juice.
Hardee's burgers are pretty good; there's one just a couple of miles from my house but I don't think they're as fantastic as the hype warrants.
The best burger in town (so far) is the Kobe burger at Cheesecake Factory. I'm not a fan of CF overall, but I love both the Kobe Burger AND the chop salad.
The Red Robin is brand spankin' new in the Providence center and seeing as how that's where we're headed for some Bond-ing tonight, I may just have to give it a try.
Kerry, you're set on the K-Tel thing huh? I must admit that of all the new names I'm liking "Rin" the best. It's definitely unique.
I don't eat burgers anymore since I gave up red meat for Lent about 10 years ago and found out they make me sick when I started back. But during my once a year sin like yours, you can't beat Rotier's with a side order of waitress attitude.
Though Ted's Monatana is pretty darned tasty...

That does happen, doesn't it? Hubs can't eat red meat, so I was eating it very rarely (ha!) anyway. But since I cut it out "completely" in June, I've had it two or three times. Each time is NOT pleasant.
I wonder if bodies have to build up a tolerance to it or something...

I don't know for sure, but there is something to that. A vegan friend of mine, who had not had an animal product in her body for 9 years, asked for a Tylenol and someone gave her a gel tab, which she took some how momentarily forgetting that gel tabs are made with gelatin. To avoid being gross, let's just say we had to stop several times on that particular car trip for her to stick her head out the door and "decorate" the side of the interstate.
If you're still hungry after that story, I concur with the person who suggested Hardee's. Hardee's makes a better burger than any nice sit-down restaurant I've ever been to. The downside to Hardee's is that they seem to invariably have HORRIBLE service at just about every location I've been to in the country. It's a good burger but you'll be waiting 10-20min for you "fast food."
LOVE RED ROBIN!!!!
Where is there one around here??? I've never seen on in TN!!
Malia--
They just built one in Mt. Juliet in the Providence shopping center.
It's about 5 miles east of my house.
Dolphin--
I can see that happening with the gelcap. Makes sense, but MAN your poor friend! Uck.
And yes, I concur with you about Hardee's. The last time I was in there I did wait about 30 minutes for a hamburger. It did occur to me at least 5 times that it may have been faster to buy the meat at the store and fry it my ownself.
I really like the bar burgers at Dave and Busters. They are small, and served on those wonderful Hawaiian Rolls. I think they are spiced just right, and have been craving them all all day.
And you call yourself a Battlestar fan...going out when there is a new episode on....
::hangs head in shame:::
Ted's Bison Burger == winner
OMG, Red Robin in Mt. Juliet? I'll be taking a trip out there soon, their burgers rock like Satan!
Michael, It's Bond. James Bond. As a 25 year devotee of all things Bond, you'd better believe I'll be at the opening day of a Bond film. ;-p BSG can be TiVo'd just this once. ;-p
Ives, let me know and we can hit up the Robin together. Maybe we can even talk Ms. Malicious into it, too.
Pretty much all humans are born with the ability to digest animal products. As a species, we are omnivores. But for some people, if they don't eat meat for a while, they lose the ability to digest it. It's something about the animal-product-digesting bacteria in the intestines, which die off if they have nothing to do for long enough; some people have so many of them that it makes no difference, but some people have relatively few to begin with.
As for burgers, it always surprises me but I like the burgers at Merchants.
Yes, RR burgers are really good. My favorite was the A-1 Peppercorn burger, but the one I go to discontinued it, so I got some kind of spicy burger with pepperjack cheese and a chili. One of my fav burger joints.
They have great oreo shakes too, and they have bottomless fries served with ranch. At least in Colorado.
